Ready America 2-Person Emergency Kit 70280 (opens in a new tab)

You want a simple starting inventory and will add missing essentials.

Kit weight
7.75 lb
Filled water
1.5 L

Why consider it: A basic inventory to personalize without buying a large tool kit.

Main tradeoff: Very little stored water; no powered flashlight or radio listed.

Add yourself: More water and suitable food, a working flashlight, phone power, alerts, and personal essentials.

Food, water & version details

Food: Two 2,400-calorie bars: 4,800 calories total for the kit.

Water: Twelve 4.225 fl oz pouches: about 1.5 liters total. No filter listed.

Sustain Supply Essential 2 Kit 70490 (opens in a new tab)

You want a lantern and water-treatment option included in a starting kit.

Kit weight
10.65 lb
Filled water
2 L + filter

Why consider it: Adds a battery lantern and filter straw while keeping the inventory relatively simple.

Main tradeoff: The included 2 liters are a small reserve for two people; the filter needs a suitable water source.

Add yourself: More drinking water, suitable food, phone power, an alert plan, medicines, and documents.

Food, water & version details

Food: Two 2,400-calorie bars: 4,800 calories total for the kit.

Water: Two 1-liter cartons: 2 liters total, plus one filter straw.

Ready America Deluxe 2-Person Kit 70285 (opens in a new tab)

You want bundled lighting, AM/FM radio and basic tools.

Kit weight
9.6 lb
Filled water
0.75 L + tablets

Why consider it: Adds a crank flashlight/radio, multitool and hygiene supplies to a basic kit.

Main tradeoff: Less filled water than the 70280. AM/FM is not NOAA weather radio.

Add yourself: More water, dependable phone power and personal supplies.

Food, water & version details

Food: Two 2,400-calorie bars; 4,800 calories for the kit.

Water: 6 4.225 fl oz pouches, about 0.75 L. Treatment tablets and an empty 32 oz bottle.

Redfora Ready For Anything Kit — 1 Person / 3 Days / Red Backpack manufacturer photo (opens in a new tab)

Mid-range · 1 person

Redfora Ready For Anything Kit — 1 Person / 3 Days / Red Backpack (opens in a new tab)

You want an organized individual kit with a NOAA radio and lighting.

Kit weight
13 lb
Filled water
Volume not established

Why consider it: Groups supplies by purpose and leaves a separate bag for personal items.

Main tradeoff: The one-person kit is heavier than some two-person starters. Check the exact selected configuration.

Add yourself: Personal items, additional water and a checked phone-charging setup.

Food, water & version details

Food: One 3,600-calorie ration bar.

Water: Twelve filled pouches and a filter straw are listed. The exact kit inventory does not state pouch volume, so total liters are not established; a pouch count is not a comparable volume.

Bag and organizer style shown. The compared inventory is specifically the one-person, three-day red-backpack configuration.

Sustain Supply Comfort 4 Kit 70492 manufacturer photo (opens in a new tab)

Higher spend · 4 people

Sustain Supply Comfort 4 Kit 70492 (opens in a new tab)

You have vehicle support or can divide a larger household inventory into manageable loads.

Kit weight
32.4 lb
Filled water
6 L + 4 filters

Why consider it: A larger supply set with meal kits, cookware, a wood stove, lighting and tools.

Main tradeoff: Heavy before personal additions. The wood stove is for outdoor use; meal instructions and water needs must be checked.

Add yourself: Personal items, suitable meals, more water and a workable carrying arrangement.

Food, water & version details

Food: 4,800 calories in bars plus eight creamy-chicken meal kits; total meal calories not established.

Water: 6 1 L cartons and four filter straws. Meal preparation needs additional planning.

Manufacturer packaging photo is illustrative of the kit. Check the current supplied meal labels and preparation instructions.

Uncharted SEVENTY2.0 Pro — Barron Backpack Version (opens in a new tab)

You value the pack and organized equipment and will complete the food-and-water plan.

Kit weight
16 lb
Filled water
No filled water listed

Why consider it: An equipment-focused kit with the current Barron backpack and a labeled, wearable supply insert.

Main tradeoff: A substantial purchase with water still to add. Confirm ration details and any first-aid substitutions.

Add yourself: Filled drinking water, suitable food and personal essentials.

Food, water & version details

Food: Two food packs listed; current ration calories need confirmation. Do not use figures from older Pro listings.

Water: Filtration and an empty bottle are listed; filled drinking water is not.

Current manufacturer version only. The earlier Amazon Pro listing remains paused; it is not a verified match.

Plan the water in two parts

HOUSEHOLD RESERVE

Store for the people at home

CDC recommends at least one gallon per person per day for three days. For two people, that is about 22.7 liters. This is a household storage benchmark, not a backpack load.

Calculate your reserve →

CARRIED SUPPLY

Choose a manageable load

Water adds about 2.2 lb per liter. Account for the route, conditions and the person carrying it. Identify additional safe water in your transport or at your destination; do not assume a filter guarantees a source.

Understand filter limits →

Filled water, empty containers and treatment tools are different things. These quantities do not predict a safe number of hours for an individual.

Make the kit yours in three steps

01

Start with what you have

Check your current bag, lights and supplies. DIY may suit you better than replacing useful equipment.

02

Fill your household gaps

Add medicines, contacts, documents, suitable food and phone power. Include children, pets and care needs.

03

Try the complete load

Check fit and carrying ability with your additions. Divide supplies or arrange assistance, and set a reminder to check dates and batteries.

How to use this comparison

Research, versions and what we have not tested

Selections compare published manufacturer inventories for distinct needs. We have not physically tested these kits, bags or tools. Exact versions matter. Where calories or pouch sizes are unclear, we say so rather than filling in a guess.

The current SEVENTY2.0 Pro uses the manufacturer’s Barron-backpack version. The older Amazon SEVENTY2 Pro listing remains paused because its photos and contents did not reconcile. No shopping link to that older listing is enabled.

Redfora is the one-person, three-day red-backpack configuration. Other selections change its inventory. A four-person kit does not establish that one person can carry it comfortably. Check contents, configuration, seller and terms before ordering.
